VOGUE: CARDI B AND CHINESE ACTOR FAN BINGBING ATTENDED GAURAV GUPTA’S HAUTE COUTURE SHOW IN PARIS LAST NIGHT

As Paris Haute Couture week wrapped up, India’s rising couturier Gaurav Gupta‘s show saw a great display of support with stars front row including Cardi B and Chinese actor Fan Bingbing. It was especially heartwarming to see these two superstars and long-time patrons of Gaurav Gupta Studio come and lend their support to the mega-talented fashion designer for his special show.
His new collection is titled ‘Hiranyagarbha’ which is Sanskrit for ‘the golden womb’ aka the source of the creation of our universe. The collection celebrates the journey of birth, transformation and the spirit of being alive by marrying his titular inspiration to the brand’s signature architectural silhouettes, all the while employing traditional Indian embroidery techniques for that exquisite haute couture-worthy finish.
Cardi B, who has donned (and, quite frankly, stunned in) Gaurav Gupta creations for the Grammy Awards 2023 and also her music video ‘No Love’ was spotted at the show in a shocking lime green gown with a hooded cape to match. The strapless version of this dress was a part of the new collection showcased last evening and there was no one better than Cardi B to be the first one to test-drive this piece, whose high-octane personality perfectly syncs with the electrifying hue of the gown. Cardi B finished off with chandelier diamond earrings, bronzed and sculpted glam and her signature long clawed nails.
Gaurav Gupta’s creative genius is fast establishing him as frequent choice on some of the biggest red carpets in the world, and for all the right reasons. His dramatic silhouettes and masterful tailoring moulds his pieces around the body of the wearer as if it were made only for them—a true mark of any haute couture ensemble. Hopefully with the presence of International stars like Cardi B and Fan Bingbing, this fashion designer is on the precipice of a new era of global dominance in fashion… and we can’t wait to see his magic unfurl!
